This is the 2nd time I used Russ to do a full recap on a Teac tape deck. This time on a Silver NOS X 2000R. What can I say? Absolutely happy with the service and turnaround. It is very hard to find good service centers for tape decks these days. Anyone with a reel to reel in the east coast and even the west coast if you don't mind shipping should take their units to him. Russ did a brilliant job of restoring a classic Akai reel to reel deck for me earlier this year.  There were a number of functions that had failed in 35 years of having the unit, in addition to needing a good deal of regular maintenance.  He completely restored the unit in a few weeks and it works as well as it did when it was new.   It was well worth renting a car and taking two days off to make the trips to/from his shop.
